A winemaker based in Meursault, Olivier Chanzy is part of a family history deeply rooted in vine growing and winemaking. Trained from an early age at the family estate in Bouzeron, he acquired over nearly ten years a rigorous understanding of work both in the vineyard and in the cellar, within a culture of transmission and high standards.
In 2008, following the sale of the family estate, Olivier Chanzy chose to broaden his field of experience. He took over the management of an estate in the Southern Rhône Valley, which he ran for five years.
This period marked a decisive opening: new grape varieties, different balances, and alternative viticultural practices. It enriched his approach to winemaking and sharpened his reading of terroirs.
In 2013, he returned to Burgundy and settled in Meursault, in a former 18th-century mill converted into a winery and brought up to modern standards. The cellar and winery were designed to allow gravity-fed operations, encouraging gentle vinifications and limiting mechanical intervention in order to preserve the integrity of the wines.
Today, Olivier Chanzy produces a range of Burgundy wines based on a rigorous and long-term selection of vineyards, with constant attention paid to the expression of individual climats and to overall balance. True to his journey, he also maintains a strong connection with the Rhône Valley, whose wines naturally complement the Burgundy range. To these wines is added Le Mouflon, a sparkling cuvée that stands as the signature of the House.
The wines are vinified and aged with care and patience, for a minimum of twelve months in the cellar. The methods employed combine Burgundian heritage with a contemporary approach, guided by a constant objective: to produce wines that are sincere, precise and faithful to their terroir.
Each year, Olivier selects cuvées from the Hospices de Beaune and the Hospices de Nuits, intended for wine enthusiasts and collectors. He also offers bespoke projects, including personalized labels and made-to-measure cuvées, with the opportunity to become the owner of a barrel and to follow the ageing of a dedicated wine.
